Keep our journalism independent, inclusive and responsible with a recurring membership
The damage inflicted on independent Greek journalism over the past decades might be irreparable. No independent regulator exists in Greece to hold print and online media to account, protect individual journalist rights and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press.
Solomon is one of the few independent media outlets in Greece. For the past 6 years, Solomon has worked very closely with the refugee and migrant communities of Athens by training refugees and migrants in journalism, photography and film-making, by producing journalistic content with them and of course by covering and investigating stories that no other media platforms get involved with.
Solomon’s aim is to introduce a new model of journalism to the public and to remind journalists the impact their work has on our society by creating a new mindset of how readers can engage in a media organization. Also, to collaborate with people who share the same values, passion and ethics, regardless of where they come from.
It’s only then that we can collectively challenge the established media paradigm, increase minorities’ representation in media and build the future of journalism with the active engagement of the audience.
